Many car owners are worried about electric vehicles because they lack knowledge about charging stations. There are also other concerns such as waiting time, emergencies, long trips, with the question of what I’m gonna do while charging, and much more. Even though many EV owners charge their cars at home, it is also important for them where and how to charge when traveling. Besides, not everyone has a residential charging opportunity because many people live with communities or do not have parking lots at all.

So, let’s review the basics of charging step by step

First Step

To begin with you should know that you can charge your EV at home. You can charge your EV using any AC outlet in your home, but it will take 8–10 hours. However, if you install a Level 2 charger in your home, you can charge your EV in 4 to 6 hours. So, if you have a garage, it is absolutely fair to expect to be able to plug in your EV at night and wake up with it fully charged the next morning.

If you live in an apartment, it is possible to own and operate an EV, but it is a little bit harder. If you don’t have access to an outlet in your apartment complex overnight, you’ll need to know where the nearest fast chargers are. Many cities have installed fast chargers as part of their “Go Green” campaigns.

Now It’s Time To Plug-In! ⚡

Once you’ve determined where to charge your EV, you need to know how to charge it.

The key when using fast charging stations is knowing which plug to use. For more detailed information, you can check this article. This is largely self-explanatory, but you should be aware that you are attempting to use the DC charger, which is quicker and will allow you to charge your EV in minutes rather than hours.

Enjoy the Facilities Nearby Charging Station

Internal combustion engine cars typically require 5–10 minutes to refill. Electric vehicles are not quite there yet. Obviously, the industry is working to fix this, but in the meantime, appreciate the opportunity to take a 30–60 minute respite from your daily grind while your EV charges.
