2023 is already shaping up to be a milestone year for Blueground!

Our mission at Blueground is to continue growing the largest global curated network of move-in ready, furnished apartments for stays of a month or more. Our strategy thus far has been building our core supply in major urban metros in the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. We now operate 12,000+ apartments in 30 cities around the world, and will continue to expand to 50 cities by 2025.

In our journey to bring our vision to life I am excited to announce our latest acquisition — Blueground will be merging forces with the leading provider of on-demand housing, Travelers Haven.

Travelers Haven (TH) offers furnished and flexible rentals on-demand, with access to nearly 20,000 US cities and towns. This lean, innovative company has a strong reputation, with financial results reaching $110 million in revenue in 2022. TH has focused on serving businesses that have housing needs all over the US. The TH team can set up furnished rentals in a matter of just a few days, virtually anywhere in the US. This is a new capability that the joint entity will be introducing. Furthermore, we plan to expand the on-demand offering to our individual guests in the US initially and expand it internationally.

It is truly amazing that the Travelers Haven team has built a bootstrapped business grounded in sound economics that has now grown to this size. Both Carlos Abisambra, Travelers Haven’s CEO, and Elia Wallen, the founder of Travelers Haven and Hotel Engine and the company’s first CEO, are industry legends. After 15 years in business, these leaders have demonstrated a deep understanding of the market with an emphasis on customer experience.

Travelers Haven’s team has done a phenomenal job executing an operationally complex business by selectively deploying technology and taking a best-practices approach to the guest experience.

Together, the two companies employ more than 1,200 people, some of whom joined the BeeGee family after our recent acquisition of the Brazilian flexible housing startup Tabas. Thanks to these recent moves, we are on track to surpass $600 million in combined revenue in 2023.

  • In the near term, the two companies will continue to operate separately and the plan is to gradually integrate as one entity
  • As part of the integration, Blueground will work with Travelers Haven to leverage our technology, pricing, operational know-how, and best-practice design and supply-chain capabilities
  • In the near future, we will use Blueground’s proprietary technology to upgrade the design and functionality of the Travelers Haven on demand product
  • Our operations teams will also work together to align the quality, aesthetics and design of Travelers Haven and Blueground homes

This acquisition is an exciting step forward for both companies. I am confident that it will allow us to offer even better solutions for flexible living to our customers in 2023 and beyond.

I am also delighted to welcome everyone from Travelers Haven into the Blueground family and want to thank our guests, partners, and stakeholders for their continued support.
