A novel from the future: Great changes have taken place in the world, but changes have come gradually and without major, sudden upheavals.

People have largely adapted and lived life as before. In the neighbourhood The Milky Way there’s a man who one day discovers that he is the last person still living in his neighbourhood. It dawned on him that great changes have taken place in the neighbourhood and in the wider world, and he decides to go and find out what has happened. He packs things into the car and starts driving.

Somewhere on the road he sees a woman standing on the side of the road, and he stops next to her.

They are two strangers who set out on a journey to rediscover the world, a world where great changes have taken place — changes that they are only guessing the consequences of.
