A Stranger I Used To Know Well

We found each other as teenagers
Walked hand in hand through our youth
Stood at the altar
Made promises we couldn’t keep
We created lives
Enjoyed them as we held hands tightly
Suffered gladly together
Loved the ride until tragedy came
And we could no longer hold hands and walk together
Disconnected a few short years
So now
You are a stranger
I used to know so well
