Autumn’s Embrace

An invitation

On a slow walk, I allow my gaze to linger on the riot of colors.
The maples puffed out in their yellow fullness,
The crimson oaks blazing and, aah, those golden gingkos,
Tall candles burning — all standing against an azure sky.

Turning the corner, I pick up my pace.
But, unexpectedly, behind the grey fence…
