The art of storytelling has existed since humans could communicate. From wall paintings to the great pyramids, from scribes to bards singing praises across the soundwaves, storytelling has created beautiful tales of magical worlds that carve the histories of man. Without storytelling, who would we be? That’s a question I don’t think we’ll ever be able to answer. One question, however, is whether storytelling can heal. I, for one, can tell you firsthand it can. Here are some reasons why.
The Therapeutic Value of Sharing Stories
Individuals often find solace in the power of storytelling, which involves sharing experiences with others. At its core, storytelling is all about connection, and it is powerful in building a sense of belonging and community. As a storyteller, I have a group of people I build with who naturally gravitate to me and help me in my daily life.
We share stories, connect, and help each other grow through our writing.
