Observing Easter When I Was a Kid
Maybe because I’m not Catholic,
I don’t think of Jesus on Easter —
instead, I see rabbits, bunnies, and hares
hopping on a field of grass,
yellow baby chicks just hatched,
Easter lilies and daffodils,
families leaving their homes
early on Sunday…
