On time, memory and liminal space

Caught between sleep and wakefulness
a slumbering mountain stirs
Between waves of mist unfurling
recycled dreams of spring
At the frayed edges of memory
sepia tone fragments of a waltz
A dance of hands entwining
folding into seamless time
A change of seasons and a parting
questions stillborn in deaf womb of night
All but stardust on the canvass
of vast infinity
