Compassionate feelings in my heart
Homeless people in summer’s heat,
Suffering both in days and nights
Daytime sweats and breathless nights
They never fully feel at rest.
Compassion for lost lonely souls
All alone with no others dear
Struggling for new peace within,
Desiring human companionship
Alienation is now their curse.
Compassion for many young adults
Educated, but lacking promised jobs
Unexpectedly at home with parents
Never planned for this nightmare
Independence, now a distant dream.
Compassionate feelings always flowing
Seeing so many struggling to survive,
Childhood dreams have turned to dust
Human potentials going undeveloped.
