Scorching everything in her sight.
The Sun burnt from the high heavens,
Ruling the world with a fiery might,
penetrating all corners of the dark havens.
Constant source of support to the common folk,
at the pinnacle of glory she shone.
Providing joys and smiles at the expense of burning out,
at the highest place all alone.

A price she paid for being unyielding and kind,
Amidst all the other stars, carefree and wild.

Illuminating everything in his sight,
The Moon shone amidst the dark skies.
Radiating with grace in the darkest of night,
A glimmer of hope to the weary eyes.
Regarded as coldly distant and aloof,
not many knew of the hidden warmth.
A particularly odd star did he cherish,
for she was both unyielding and yet kind.

He left the high heavens for her to flourish,
a price he paid for being in a love so blind.

But not all is ever in vain,
for the Heavens leave no mercy detained.
Once in a while when the Sun is forlorn,
And the Moon aches for his beloved.
To the same skies they both return.
To be in each other’s embrace for a fleeting eclipse,
Is worth an eternity stuck in their personal abyss.
