FLAMES — A Poem About Soul Mates, Love Fusion, and Poetic Art
An Artist and Poet Collaboration
I am excited to be part of the artist and poet collaboration with the Poetry Society of Indiana (PSI) and the Kokomo Art Association. The poem I created and titled Flames was inspired by the painting above of a couple intertwined against an orange background created by artist Ramona “Mona” Daniels that she titled Love Fusion. I wasn’t aware of her title for the painting until I seen it at the art gallery display debut.
My contribution is one of 32 poems and 20 paintings in the exhibit that will be on display at the Artworks Gallery, 210 North Main Street, Kokomo, Indiana, August 2-30, 2024. The Gallery hours are Tuesday — Saturday, 12–4 PM. If you’re in the area, I hope you stop by and check out the amazing artwork and poetry.
I love when the arts come together and collaborate on projects like this. My dream is to create a festival to celebrate the arts in my community. I’ll keep you posted on that progress. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my poem and are inspired to create art to share with others!
Flames
In the heart of flames’ embrace,
two souls find their place.
One in darkness, one in light,
traversing the fiery night.
