Floating

You pulled me up from deep underground
and left me floating last night.

Floating up above the early winter frost
that covers the green park behind.

Floating across the low fog creeping in
from the vast Pacific ocean.

Floating atop phallic outcroppings that
litter this city of St. Francis.

Floating above the clear crescent moon
and its bright shiny companion.

Floating up where the rays of the sun disappear
into the black hole at the center of our galaxy.

Floating above all creation until all I sense is the
effortless feeling of being in love with you.
