Beneath the sheets, between your teeth
Deep red heart, thorns underneath.
Upon your breast, while laid asleep
The truth unseen, eyes closed in peace.

From clouds of grey come somber rains,
When poisons course through lovers’ veins,
Actions prove passion’s essence stony
Inside the den of matrimony.

Without regret found one’s self bereft
Balanced on the edge of eternal rest.
To shake their hands, look in their eyes,
Shield them from those thoughts despised.

Then all parade out to the field.
Beside the pit, see the player kneel.
Hidden betrayal disguised as love
Like an arrow descending from above,

Thunders off the pine abode,
As cries for justice skyward echoed.
There angels lay their lofty heads
For those who sleep in flower beds.

I take lowbrow humor and wordplay very seriously. Not much else, though.
