How Dawn Breaks

Dawn breaks
one crack at a time.
Spill itself into the terrestrial
rivers of all that the day has yet to ruffle
courses through the forest of the world
and hides itself in the pure, the golden
the underside of a leaf
holes in a colossal tree
such places where earthlings don’t go
till dusk gathers them all
to lead them out in the night
the sun comes full circle
and the dawn breaks again
one crack at a time.
