it wasn’t /lʌv/
was it?

I was hiding away from you
what we had
was not haunting
It’s like a butterfly
that had wandered
your garden
and didn’t leave,
pretty but it’s itchy
on the skin when touched
when I peeked out,
I knew you saw
my wind-blown hair
waved through the window
but I was mere
silhouettes of sunsets
you remained there
and couldn’t care
and I couldn’t care
anymore
as the sky
recurred in patterns,
we were freed
from the loop,
the wild flowers
invaded that yard
we couldn’t care
and let the breeze
tossed our had
I lose a friend not a /lʌvə(r)/
but it feels fine
it should be just like that
