Liberation
A ladder to the sky
I used to feel immobilized
Chains on my hands and feet
I couldn’t walk away from it
The resolve was far too weak.
Then one day out of the blue
A ray of sun shone through
I hadn’t seen such brightness
Since I was twenty-two.
It gave me liberation
The feeling I was free
Free as the breeze wandering
As far as the eye could see.
Across the water magnified
The distance took new boundaries
I walked in front of southern winds
Rustling through the trees.
Outside there were no limits
North-south the east or west
I blew where intuition took me
And entertained the best.
Now with liberation
My vision has improved
I feel no longer stilted
Hard done or disapproved.
A ladder leads up to the sky
What’s on the other side
The best is appreciation
Too much selection to decide
I’ve journeyed here by myself
I’ve cut the ropes that bound
My true feeling of liberation
A part of me I’ve found.
