Can We Live, at Peace, in the Paradox, the Absurd?

born free, and yet,
everywhere in chains
β€” Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Kafkaesque
a bleak reality
a Twin Peaks existence
But no, not us, we are not Waiting for Godot

instead, we are living the paradox
this oceanic connectivity
all boundaries are illusions
loving the dynamic
integrating the diverse

we emerge together
the birds, the pebbles, the dew on the morning flowers
the blender spins
composing unique narratives
consciousness a central ingredient
if not in chains

I think, therefore I am
β€” Descartes

yes, but entwined, affective, active
and so we put our thoughts
choices into that vortex
holding matter and energy together, but different

chaos β€” the invitation to live fully and create
even in the middle of the desert
when we embrace free will
born of conscious minds
with intentional actions
playing into the meaning-making

with a voice, I am not falling any more
I am floating, swimming in this pulsing matrix of life
rhythmic integrated circuits of energy
invisible, yet mutable
ephemeral, yet eternal
freeing, yet patterned
a sensuous tangibility

music-tuning nature is our existence
absurd to struggle against it
embrace the seemingly untouchable
finding our place with conscious free will
finding resolutions to ease the tension

there is a weight to this human responsibility
beyond the unbearable lightness of being
existentialism is motivation to action
rising strong, unbounded
in accordance to moral code and basic human rights

disquieting in the responsibility of it all
yet paradoxically freeing in the choice to determine
right down to the level of the quantum atom
how life plays out as we move through time

sunlight, that bright, wide-open liberation
a passionate and transformative existence

there is no problem so bad you cannot make it worse
β€” Hadfield, astronaut

there is no problem so bad you cannot make it better
and that
is the power and responsibility of free-will
