Climbing on upward mountain trail
Observing mountain laurel as I climb
Full white blooms with pink accents
Growing in shade of diminished trees
Trees smaller as trail climbs higher.

Seeing peaks looming in far distance
Encapsulated by faint blue hues
Deep ridges carved over centuries…
