Letting Go
Ode To Memory
Poetry
I remember crossing the bridge over the river arriving at peace
A change in atmosphere without the humdrum of every day
Entering the Lodge built for our young family
Gathering with friends and elders
Around a crackling fire with warm drinks
Children frolicking in the snow
In their secret world unknown to us
I remember the song of the bullfrogs looking for their mates
as we cleared sleep from our eyes
Then tumbling down the hill to the water
Sun streaks glistening on the lake
Beyond the floating, blooming pink and green lily pads
I remember swimming…
