Perhaps Autumn Was Inspired By Budding Romances

Perhaps autumn was inspired by budding romances,

one akin to the other as they share fleeting silences.

Leaves graced by fall beginning to don their pink,

cheeks turning scarlet at the slightest brush of skin.

Birches and Pines masquerading in orange and gold,

Blooming lovers in guises trying to fit the mould.

A metamorphosis of colors to suit nature’s needs,

an effort made to decipher what the other fancies.

Perhaps autumn was inspired by brewing romances,

one akin to the other as they make new advances.

Sunset-cast foliage pave new roads to be trodden,

but in due time this newness will be long forgotten.
