The Answers We Seek Are In Us
Even if we can’t see them, they’re there for us.
I don’t have answers to questions I never thought to ask —
And now that I ask them, I discover there are no definitive answers in books, media, nor authorities.
The answers are within us along with the questions we never dreamed.
One of us sees this thing, another knows that, and somehow, some way, we will cobble together something to clutch for a moment.
There are a lot of moments in a day.
There are too many moments with questions and no answers.
However.
There are shimmers of beautiful, spectacular surprises —
Not to be willfully blind to hard reality, but allowing the possibility for a bigger one with surprises, shimmers, daffodils, and singing.
Those are just as true as the numbers, the consternation, the never-ending hunt to assign blame and wreak punishment.
I decide for myself what I think, what I feel, and what I will do
In our vast, uncharted wilderness.
I start by admiring plucky daffodils that found a new home for themselves on the side of the hill, far from their carefully groomed, planned bed.
This is a very small start.
It won’t last for more than that smiling moment, but that is enough.
Beyond the daffodils is the tree waving red beds, scolding blue jays, the woodpecker finally working on the dead tree stump.
