The Broken Hearted Poem

A tragic love story

Debby Hudson

She sat on the page with her orderly stanzas
Waiting to be read
Until the poem on the next page winked at her
There they sat side by side
Yearning for eyes to move over them
They married their verses
Then an epic was born
And their love grew
As the pages yellowed and the type grew dim
Voracious readers consumed them all
But then someone ripped out the page where he was
And she was left
