a build-up on crown land
a daring in-plain-sight maneuver
with every troop well-primed
as in
Stripped. Stark. Naked.

Elsewhere, there are infantry brigades
stationed at temple outposts left’n’right
their mission one of strategic importance
Defend. The Army’s. Auricular. Asset.
if not
suffer the most unhearable of plights

Commandos too are in position
camouflaged in the undergrowth
waiting for their orders to attack
“Take. NO. Prisoners.”
but only
when conditions are deemed right

Regular applications of war paint
black, tawny brown, mahogany and red
designed ostensibly to spy on enemies
at least that’s the spiel the comrades tread
Truth. Is.
