Walking is a wonderful way
of remembering,
seeing,
inventing and
reinventing myself.

I walk on a trail where hikers have walked before me, thousands of times. As I walk, ideas come to me, and I ask myself:

How does the path go from idea and reflection to writing?

I walk, peace in mind. I’m on a path in a friendly landscape.

Ideas come and appear.
They stay within me only for brief moments.
— Should I stop, should I write them down?

I see ideas in brief glimpses.
Some stick in my mind.
Others do not want to stay.
They evaporate.
Before I’m aware of it
they are gone.

I notice
that they wave
enigmatically at me.
— Another time, maybe.

I’m moving on.
The trail is good to walk on.
It goes slowly upwards.
The higher I reach, the better the view.
