The Right Idea, a poem.

Photo by Joanna Kosinska on Unsplash.

Tolerance is not a luxury,
Acceptance or respect,
these are common decencies,
right we should protect.

When far too complicated,
Convoluted and often strange,
The world is evolving,
In ourselves, make change.

Compassion for our neighbors,
Is when we truly grow,
The path to universal love,
And that is when we know.

“Do unto others,
as you have done to you,”
no word with greater meaning,
in your heart is true.

“God is love: Love thy neighbor as I have loved you.”
For when we turn the page, read between the lines,
is when the truth is revealed,
the answers, we can find.

No simple truth but love,
no greater gift to receive,
the purest of intention,
if only you believe.
