Watching the World Die at My Feet

By Rider on iStock (image licensed by author)

The World fell at my feet
Wounded by neglect,
too weak to rise another day
Finally submitting
to the uncaring and unloving
The final blow
from people gone mad
It has no strength left
to fight the mindless fear
