You Are Beautiful — Regardless Of What The Scale Says

A poem about loving yourself.

You complain about your weight,
but baby I think you look great,
you say you don't look as good as you did 10 years ago,
but I like you just the way you are, just thought you should know.

I don’t care what the scale says,
being in love with you has got me in a haze,
your personality always shines through,
a lot more than your weight ever could do.

Too often our society tries to tell us how we should look,
but we all have different stories, we aren’t writing the same type of book,
so don’t fret, be happy with who you are,
baby, you’re my shining star.
