You might as well follow the algorithm
And find where it will lead or end
It’s hard for a new writer to ignore the algorithm. It’s like a child or an armature looking at the teacher for approval. We naturally seek validation of our creativity when new to the creator’s world. But the danger is in making it your lead, or you follow it bluntly, ignoring your passion and interest and writing what draws readers’ attention. You might make it, yet you may feel lost in a world that is not yours.
The algorithm is tricky. And sometimes, it seems to have a mind of its own. It’s a mix of many things, and trust me, you want to avoid flowing with the tides; you will only like who you will become if you apply yourself positively to it.
A friend of mine who is a YouTuber followed the algorithm tides, and the last time I checked, it was unclear if his content is now about love and sex. Another of my tick-tock friends now danced half-necked; she is riding with the algorithm. I understand it’s where the money is, but it’s not worth venturing.
It’s OK to begin writing or creating content even if you’re unsure about your niche, but you shouldn’t undersell yourself to keep up with the trend. There’s a famous saying that speed is unimportant if you’re heading in the wrong direction. If you lose everything, at least keep your integrity and…
