Poetry

Painting: Young Woman on the Shore by Edvard Munch on Wikiart.org

Narrow windows, hidden chambers,
cracked portals, locked entries,
let the shaken spill epoxy
to seam civilization’s torn foundation.

The mindless ponder the folly of suspended animation,
saints and sinners clamoring to the heights of paradise,
the gates for admittance bolted shut,
with the adhesive of a preordained mind,
where there appears a sign from the wedgewood sky
to loiter in the wild grass and kiss the terracotta ground.
Tomorrow will lick itself,
today there is nothing more
than the beauty of fresh air
and the rare moment of understanding what is here and now.
And so, I plough through this thing called life.
