4. Partner: The Watershed Project

A non-profit that aims to inspire and equip Bay Area communities to protect our local watersheds.

What have we created?

We built native Android and iOS applications, as well as a Ruby on Rails application interface (API).

With this,

  • managers can delegate tasks and publish updates about sites, including low impact design projects around the local Bay Area watersheds
  • employees and community members can complete tasks, upload photos, and report on the status of sites

What’s next?

  • completing the manager dashboard
  • using existing data owned by the organization
  • beta testing with real users!

5. Partner: Worldreader

A non-profit that provides digital books to children all over the world.

Project Leader Varun Rau:

Reading is a very personal experience, so finding engaging books for early readers can completely change their outlook on reading and learning. As Worldreader has been growing their online library, it has realized that finding relevant books is quickly becoming impossible.

What have we created?

A new online website that makes curating and searching through the extensive library easy and intuitive. With this, Worldreader can more efficiently discover the content that it needs and help its partners find the books their students love.

What’s next?

  • fully deploying the application
  • testing it further with Worldreader and its partners
  • making the user experience more personal and engaging

6. Partner: Elevate Africa

A non-profit that uses crowd-funding to support entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth in Africa’s poorest regions.

What have we created?

Blueprint worked with Elevate Africa to make a beautiful new website that features a campaign system to crowd-fund businesses.

We hope that this will help the organization better express its mission and and create economic independence for Africa as a whole.

What’s next?

Although Elevate Africa won’t be an officially active Blueprint project in the spring, we’ll be working behind the scenes to ensure that the website is polished and bug-free for deployment.

Keep an eye out for the site’s launch in February or March!
