CBd Superfood Walnut Pesto
We’ve been on a pesto kick lately. . . and we’re feeling pretty good about it! ☺️
🍃There’s something about the garlicky, herbaceous flavor of pesto that feels in perfect alignment with the onset of spring.
It is reminiscent of the abundant growth that our gardens, forests, and fields will soon offer! And it is a tasty reminder of the exciting cooking opportunities that lie ahead from fresh garden produce and herbs.
This pesto is made with walnuts instead of pine nuts, giving it a slightly nuttier flavor. In addition to olive oil, we’ve used some @cbdsuperfood ghee to create a smoother texture and buttery taste. 😋
We’ve added a little extra flavor with garlic, nutritional yeast, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. We spread some on a slice of bread from one of our favorite local bakeries, @oldworldlevain .

CBD Superfood Walnut Pesto Recipe
Ingredients:
- 5 oz. fresh basil
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1/4 c. CBD Superfood Ghee
- 3–4 cloves fresh garlic
- 1/4 c. nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- pinch red pepper flakes
Directions:
- Remove basil leaves from stems and place leaves in a food processor.
- Add all remaining ingredients, and blend until mixture is creamy.
- For a chunkier pesto, add a small handful of walnuts. For a creamier pesto, add a little olive oil or ghee. Enjoy!
