Interest in Cupcakes Over the Years

According to the above chart, the interest in cupcakes over the years has fluctuated more than some would think. Within the last decade, cupcake interest has been high for the most part, probably due to the fact that cupcake specialty shops are more common now. The years 2012–2015 appear when searches were the highest on Google, with a relatively steady decline in the following years. This could be a number reasons, maybe the cupcake market has become over-saturated? Maybe cupcakes just aren’t as good as they use to be? Maybe cookies are starting to become more appetizing? Whatever the reason could be, maybe 2019 is the year cupcakes make a comeback.
