Blue State Is Forming a Union

That’s what you see the moment you land on Blue State’s website. Our agency was founded on the idea that everyday people have the power to change the world. It’s why our clients choose us to help them mobilize and inspire their supporters. As employees and a community, it’s why we work here.

We believe in what Blue State champions: putting people first, driving real change, walking the walk, and making good trouble. And it’s why we’re fighting to make this the best possible workplace for everyone.

We’ve come together from across Blue State’s departments, disciplines, and offices to collectively improve our working conditions. We’re forming a union.

We believe that Blue State leadership is working to improve our company’s culture with good intentions. To hasten progress, we need a seat at the table. Change has often been slow and staff have been largely left out of the decision-making process. That’s why we’re unionizing — to create a more inclusive, dignified, and powerful Blue State — right now.

Forming a union will enable us — as well as future employees — to effectively advocate for changes that will make Blue State a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive agency.

We want Blue State to succeed. We believe fiercely in our mission, our work, and most of all, our people. We also recognize the need for critical changes in this moment when our world and our work are radically shifting. We ask that Blue State’s Executive Leadership respect our democratic right to organize without interference and bargain with us in good faith for a contract that will ensure Blue State’s future as a community and organization that lives up to its values.
