If you are on Instagram and I still have to tell you there’s an egg out there who broke all the records, well why are you on Instagram?
This random guy managed to unite 40 million people(as updated on Jan 15) for a single cause and accomplished what he set out for. I’m not even sure if he believed it would actually work. 3–4 lines, 1 egg, and there’s this explosion all over the world. That’s genius!
Now I know it might seem useless, a hoax, or something completely imbecile to a lot of us. Maybe because it is! Imagine if this many people united to do something actually meaningful. Imagine setting up a record where 40 million people and more from all over the world come together to create history, to bring about a change, it’s crazy to think how many issues could resolve and how many minorities could be empowered within a few hours. It’s an extremely mighty thing, this social media and the third world we’ve managed to successfully create.
But what’s the point of all this? It’s completely senseless to even pay this much attention to. Why bother liking the post at all?
Yet, the only fact that makes me appreciate this baseless, craziest, most dumb of the posts I’ve ever come across on Instagram is the fact that it had so much power to actually set a record. It’s almost insane to look back at this day and see the integrity of people when it comes to a cause. It makes me believe there’s a lot more left in us than we think, and a lot more to get if we think!
Well, go like that egg, not because it doesn’t matter, but because you will feel grand being a part of some gang that has the largest members till date. Be a part of this epidemic because honestly it just feels good to know what one simple post can do.
P.s.: Even I hate the thousands of replicas being made. This egg came out of someone who was the only one who thought about it, sadly you are not the only one to think about copying it!
