Community Meetup Powered by BNPL Pay
BNPL Pay believes in the power of communities. Fortunately, we got to participate in an interesting one from the Philippines. It seems almost natural for us to support a vibrant community in any part of the globe that promotes DeFi in general.
In the Philippines, especially in Davao City, a new non-profit community has recently been incepted, the Davao DeFi Community (DDC), formed by local blockchain enthusiasts with the vision and commitment to share, introduce and educate its locals about DeFi, NFT and blockchain technology in anticipation of the web 3.0 revolution. As a non-profit community, the DDC encourages people to learn together and together teach one another. The educators behind this community aren’t simply looking to earn money; they want to improve people’s lives through financial services.
The first Davao DeFi Community meetup was held in Davao City last 22nd of July, sponsored by BNPL Pay and NFT Davao. With the support of DeFi protocols that share the common vision, according to them, they will continue to create similar events every month if feasible with local meetups and collaborative learning. Meetup topics include, among other things, the introduction of DeFi from conception to future fruition, the introduction of protocols of the sponsors, and many other things
That being said, BNPL Pay is truly hyped to be part of this activity. It’s both social and publicity for BNPL Pay. It is a unique method to bring our products and services in front of potential customers and educate the community about the DeFi ecosystem.
About Davao DeFi Community:
Initially intrigued by Bitcoin, Ruben Lacumba, Jr., one of the mentors of this community, read one whitepaper after another before teaching others about DeFi, NFT, and what to expect from Web3.0, the next web revolution. Having started with just five people with the same vision, their passion has begun to manifest itself in the form of groups of techies, designers, teachers, business owners, freelancers, Virtual Assistants, and others banding together to form local, city-based community meetups dedicated to sharing their love for blockchain, networking with one another and growing friendships.
DDC Mission: “To introduce and exchange knowledge with its members locally and directly that will open their eyes and provide them with new opportunities and perspectives. DDC hopes to inspire other local DeFi groups to join forces and contribute to the future.
