What cures boredom of…well everyone? Games, especially if they’re board (see what I did there)
And thus, Boardom was born!
Ok, not exactly…it was actually born upon Mount Olympus when Zues himself proclaimed he needed a user friendly board game website to continually crush the Titans while they remained locked in the shadow realm. Again…not exactly, a little bit of Disney’s Hercules was crossed with Yu-Gi-Oh for that second origin story, but regardless of how we get here, we are here now!
We are Boardom! Makers of classic board games that you can play online seamlessly and completely free, AND also devoid of ads! Crazy right?
As board game lover ourselves, we grew up with some of the early flash game websites (pre-youtube days) and have come to learn what makes a better gaming experience — it’s the little things that matter.
We’ve taken the approach of making sure the little things are included, to give our games that extra feeling of truly playing against another person, not just a computer AI that we built — because we didn’t.
But, that kind of the reason we’re doing this whole thing. We like playing, and think if we improve little by little, day by day, we’ll end up with a truly fun game site. From games that haven’t really changed in generations or ones that may have been forgotten over time (looking at you Hnefatafl — our newest game)
So besides our approach, which I’m sure has been told over and over by hundreds of different gaming sites….
What makes Boardom different?
Well, we’re kinda new, young, and not so handsome (especially the employees Alex & Matt) Side note — Matt is engaged and Alex is writing this article with a beer in hand, I digress…
But we’re excited — really excited. We’re building this for you guys. Features, games, ideas, graphics, tell us everything! A big idea behind the way the games are built is to give you the sense that you’re playing against another human being, not a bot. The same goes for how we run the site. The best customer support is the one that gets things done immediately, and while new features take some time to create, we want to discuss ideas with you and make everyone’s experience as best as possible.
So with that, message us! Or even better, check into one of our streams/webinars (we’re not sure what we’re calling them yet) but you can bet-your-bippy we’ll be online derping around, playing some games, and talking to our users about turning ideas into reality.
