Disney’s California Adventure Will Receive The Marvel Universe

Another announcement that has gone under the radar by fans.

Concept Art of Ant-Man Attraction (Hong Kong Disneyland)

If you are a fan of Marvel Comics. This should be a big deal for you. Disney is about to create a “Universe” dedicated to our beloved superheroes. Despite having to deal with that horrendous theme park rights deal with Universal. Disney will be able to create experiences based off of Spider-Man and The Avengers.

Just like what Joe Rohde hinted at with Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout. He said that attraction would be the start of a whole Marvel universe at Disney’s California Adventure. Remember Walt Disney Imagineering always does a 10 year plan. They plan out the next 10 years in attractions, restaurants, and hotels coming to the resorts. Disney bought Marvel back in 2009. I’m sure that caused WDI’s 10 year plan to change up just a bit.

During the opening weekend of Mission Breakout. A mysterious Avengers hatch was put down near the site. Obviously heavily hinting at the future of the park. Chapek officially confirmed the hint at the Parks and Resorts panel. He also said it will be a “completely immersive superhero universe.”

The current rumors for the themed universe include a Avengers rollercoaster and an intense Spider-Man dark ride. This will be different than Hong Kong Disneyland’s current Marvel Land plans. Hong Kong has the Iron Man Experience nicknamed “Stark Tours” by Disney fans. They are getting two more attractions. One that will replace Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters and Autopia. One is a Marvel shooter ride with concept art of Ant-Man as Giant-Man.

This is another announcement from D23 that went under the radar. Yeah, I understand it’s a lot to process. Disney bloody murdered The Great Movie Ride right in front of us. I’m just surprised more of the Disneyland fans aren’t excited for this. First things first they are getting Star Wars: Galaxy Edge first. Plus they are getting a land dedicated to Marvel. Yes, Walt Disney World got some cool stuff too. I just find this Marvel Universe exciting.

Maybe fans will be more excited once Disney reveals more details about this upcoming experience. I think we’re going to be in for a real treat. I just need to find away to get to California.
