The Task Unfinished

We cannot be changed by knowledge we do not have.

Allow me to share with you some statistics:

Worldwide there are 16,761 People Groups. Of these, 7,050 are considered Unreached People Groups, meaning that within them there are less than 2% who are Evangelical Christian. In an Unreached People Group it is (statistically) next to impossible for an indigenous multiplying Jesus movement to take root.

42% of the World Population (by group) is considered Unreached. Missionaries must be sent in order to reach these people with the gospel.

According to the World Christian Database there are roughly 400,000 missionaries in the world. A dismal 3.3% of them are among the Unreached. Even more dismal is that only an estimated 1% of all American Christian giving to “Missions” goes to the Unreached.

I know of no better equipping tool aimed at mobilizing the Church towards greater participation in God’s global purpose than Perspectives. This is one of the main reasons I dedicate much of my time and resources to pouring back into the ministry. The goal of Perspectives is not to make missionaries out of all believers. Rather, it is to have all believers be on mission with God.

“And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matt 24:14

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

The task God has given His people is clear; all nations, that is every ethne, is to be given the gospel. This is why I advocate for the Unreached, and beg the Church to take a hard look at the great imbalance we have made and the work yet to be done.
