What We Publish

Body of Hope is a publication about bodies. If it happens to, about, or within bodies, you’ll find it here. We’re looking for original content in the form of nonfiction essays and poetry and artwork that explores a variety of topics on the body, including (but not limited to):

  • aging
  • body image
  • body transformations
  • disability
  • gender identity
  • health/wellness
  • hormonal changes
  • medical conditions
  • reproductive issues
  • sexuality
  • sexual trauma
  • and other body issues not listed here, this is not an exhaustive list by any means

Disclaimer: stories/artwork that shame, fetishize, or otherwise malign the bodies of others will not be tolerated here.

Once you have been approved, you’ll receive an email within 7 business days.

Submission Guidelines

  • Essays should be at least 750 words.
  • Poetry should not be longer than 1,000 words.
  • Artwork/photography should only be submitted by the creator. Artwork may NOT contain nudity.
  • Content should be original and not published elsewhere.
  • Drafts should be clear, well-written, and edited before submission. Any pieces that require edits will be returned with a note explaining changes that need to be made.
  • No spam or sponsored content or affiliate links.
  • Authors may include a short bio at the end of the piece, no more than four (4) sentences long. Bios should be written in the third person perspective. Bios may only include one (1) call-to-action.
  • We will publish one (1) article per day, Monday through Friday.
