Happy Brawl Wednesday!

This week for my deck I decided to give myself the ULTIMATE CHALLENGE. Make a white/green deck. Full stop full disclosure, the effects white/green has in standard bore me to tearrrs. All this makin small dudes and makin big dudes and sometimes makin dudes bigger and gaining life. Snooze city. But good golly gee, the possible generals for selesnya are some of the yawniest things on yawn earth. Let’s run them down while also I will give each one a yawn rating.

Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves

Eating that second big plate of spaghetti that you really shouldn’t have.

Ajani, the Greathearted

The movie “Troy”

Trostani Discordant

An episode of “Wings” that doesn’t have Lowell.

Emmara, Soul of the Accord

Three oxys and a 40 of mickey’s Ice.

Actually kinda sweet.

So there we go we goin with old big butts matter Huatli. So now what kind of deck do we wanna make? I thought about this long and hard and thought about one of the other things green does for us, findin lands. That finally led me to what I wanted to do in this g/w deck, especially since we can’t do it in standard anymore.

Field of the Dead

Yup, we gon make zombayz. Also synergizes well with Huatli because that means our zombies can attack for 2 damage instead of….well 2 damage. So obviously we will need a package of differently named lands, one of the big cuts because I refuse to run it is Command Tower. I stand by that this is one of the worst cards ever printed so for MY OWN SENSIBILITIES it is getting cut even though it would be very useful in this deck. But we are not some silver spoon fed lubbers so we can make due without.

So lets see our nonbasic land package.

Blast Zone (this time not even pretending to blow up tokens)

Castles Ardenvale and Garenbrig

Cryptic Caves

Emergence Zone

old reliable Evolving Wilds

new reliable Fabled Passage

Gateway Plaza

Lotus Field

Mobilized District

Interplanar Beacon

Gingerbread Cabin (basically a come into play tapped land)

Idyllic Grange (ditto)

the guildgate

the Shock

There a couple others but they are pretty poor at what we want. Also likely Evolving Wilds and Fabled Passage are going to stay on the board just to be uniquely named lands until we have field out and enough other uniquely named lands that we can crack for more zombiez. Also since so much of it taps for colorless we will go ahead and run a Chromatic Lantern to not be entirely donked on Mana. So we are basically putting in any green card that says find a land. So just assume all of those are included, the best one being Nissa’s Triumph. Which means we will of course be running Nissa because we sort of need that synergeys.

THE WORKHORSE

Elvish Reclaimer

This guy gonna be the dude who keeps getting us the lands we need as well as triggering zombies later on. He is basically a one mana Golos. Our main way of finding this feller is going to be a 3 mana Finale of Devastation. Perfect tutor. Of course since he will be razerunning our lands we will also be adding pretty much any recursion spell that says land or permanent. As well as any of those foofy once upon a timeish cards that let us look through a few cards to find a land or creature.

We are of course also gonna run some white prison stuff because it is fun and we mostly just wanna throw down lands anyway.

Rule of Law (yes again)

Deafening Silence (maybe)

Archon of Absolution

Hushbringer

So how are we gonna win? Let’s say we actually get our zombies how will we possibly win in a slightly asinine way. We gonna go with

ANGELIC EXALTATION

So we get a bunch of tokens and then bant the dingdangheck out of one of them into a HUGE BEATER. Likely will add something that gives evasion I assume. Also for laughs will throw in a COLOSSUS HAMMER for big old zombie beats.

This needs a little work, but as we know we can only build brawl decks in Arena on “Brawl Wednesday” so I haven’t been able to fiddle as much as I would like.

I doubt this will win one game.

I blame the color pair for any losses.

Until then, hope to see you on the Brawl Pitch.

Chris
