Zambia Sets Up Germany Clash In Last 16

Zambia has set-up a round of 16 clash against one time FIFA Under-20 World Cup champions Germany.

Germany finished third in Group B to clinch one of the four spots for best third finishers and set up a meeting against Zambia — the Group C top finishers.

The 1981 FIFA Under-20 winners only won one match in the group stage beating Vanuatu 3–2, held Mexico to a goalless draw and succumbed to a 2–0 defeat by Venezuela.

They joined Japan, Saudi Arabia and Costa Rica as the tournament’s four best third finishers and advanced to the round of 16. Germans were behind Venezuela and Mexico in their group.

Germany is making its 11th appearance at the tournament and square-off against Zambia, a third timer, at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Wednesday. The match kicks off 20:00 hours local time (13:00 hours Zambian time).
