Bolster’s on the hunt for a new Digital Campaign Manager to join our Digital Team. We thought who better than our whip smart Digital Campaign Manager Rebekah McNutt to explain the ins and outs of the role.

Bek joined our Melbourne office the week before COVID-19 made WFH an everyday activity. Over a year and a half of Zoom calls and Slack messages, she’s built a stellar rep as our go-to person when Google Tag Manager fires blanks or when a campaign is crying out for a Twitch campaign. Her current happy clients include Linktree, Jameson and Frameline Festival.

Bek!

Hey Bek! Let’s ignore Bolster for a hot minute. Tell us about who you are outside of work.

Hello! I’m somewhat new to Melbourne having moved here two-and-a-half years ago from NZ. I was drawn to Melbourne because I’m a foodie and love finding cool new bars and restaurants (it’s one of my secret skills). Coming from a design background I like to soak up anything creative so checking out art galleries, markets and wandering around with a camera. I spent my university years going to small gigs in my hometown Dunedin. So when it comes to checking out live music, gigs are where I’ll be.

Loves: sour beer and cocktails (like Aviations).

Hates: actually I hardly hate anything … other than black liquorice.

You’re a Digital Campaign Manager at Bolster. What does that actually mean?

My role as a DCM is super dynamic. Ultimately I’m responsible for looking after campaigns for clients from start to finish. This means being involved in every aspect from planning through to setup, optimisation and reporting. A campaign can be anything from promoting a music festival through to always on digital activity for an ecommerce brand.

And what does that actually look like, day to day?

Each day always starts with our daily standup followed quickly by a coffee. The rest of the day however is super varied because I’m usually working on a bunch of different and exciting campaigns. It can involve meeting with clients to kick off a campaign, jumping in and optimising ads that are live, creating a media plan, writing ad copy, setting up conversion tracking and all sorts!

What excites you the most about the state of digital advertising at the moment?

With us moving to a cookieless future, it’s definitely a pretty pivotal time and a shake up to our industry. It’s exciting to be part of this change and coming from a brand marketing background I’m really interested in the human element and a holistic approach. I think through these changes we will see content that is more useful and engaging.

Now we’re on the hunt for a new Digital Campaign Manager to join our Digital Team. What would you love your new team mate to bring to the table?

Because we’re reaching diverse audiences with our campaigns I think it’s really important to have Digital Campaign Managers with different perspectives and life experiences. As a team we always like to question things and ensure anything we send out into the world is inclusive and accessible. So just come in being you!
