A new collaboration with Vividas will add a seamless layer of digital rights management (DRM) to original Bolt+ content, giving creators further peace of mind as they embrace the growing decentralized evolution of the web. It’s a partnership that’s set to go beyond live streams and implement security features across the Bolt ecosystem, including all NFT backed content.

But DRM in the world of web3 is untrodden ground, making this a challenging, if fascinating, task the two companies have set themselves.

Control and security in web3 content

Content creators around the world have come to understand that their live streams aren’t just a hobby. They can be a product, and a brand. Something that’s become an achievable career. So as creatives turn their attention toward entrepreneurism, the importance of protecting that property becomes a matter of increased importance.

DRM for streaming content isn’t a new concept, but it’s one that Australian company Vividas has developed a singular expertise around. That expertise isn’t just focused on security, which is only one aspect of good DRM. It’s about control, management and compliance.

It’s these specialities that have caught the attention of Bolt Global, which was founded on the principle of giving control back to creators. Control over their earnings, and control over their content.

The shape of content control on the new Internet

It raises the question of what content control management looks like on web3. Bolt Global is blazing a brand new trail in multiple web3 arenas, from live streaming to NFT utility. So the answer to that question is, in truth, somewhat unknown to anyone.

Working together, Bolt Global and Vividas are approaching the scope of decentralized DRM content delivery as a new frontier. BoltZap, for example, is a brand new platform that on the surface is an NFT marketplace. But BoltZap NFTs are built for utility and access control, not just inert digital files or static artwork. Content creators on Bolt+ will soon be able to mint NFTs that will work as access tokens for premium web3 content, community memberships, subscriptions, event access and more.

Bringing DRM control into this kind of decentralized system and blockchain functionality is brand new territory. What Bolt Global and Vividas uncover as they research and implement new mechanisms of creative control are set to lay the foundations for secure web3 content delivery for the entire industry.
