Ever wondered the possibility of being able to track where your mischievous cat has wandered off to? Well IoT can help.

An Example video implemented by National Geographic can be seen below

Now the tech used in the video above is a local logger , but IoT technology based on GSM can go as far as giving you live positions of you pets directly on your smart phone, so you know exactly where to search for them in case emergency furry cuddles are required ;)

In fact this idea can be extended to livestock which can bring in huge and unseen ROI, which could not be possible without the use of IoT. The reason I say unseen ROI is because the data which you can collect from even the monitoring the most simple parameter such as how many steps a Cow has taken in a day or how far it has traveled in a day and temperature can give you valuable insights on multiple factors such as :

  1. Cow’s reproduction rate
  2. Early disease detection
  3. Stress management etc.

You may think this is a distant concept, but at this very moment in time it is being implemented by companies like COWLAR , you can visit their site to know more.

And why just restrict our thinking to livestock and pets, the same can be used for human beings as well. IoT based wearable or in some cases ingest-able tech can help monitor various parameters of the human body, such as heart rate, temperature, GSR (Galvanic skin response), can give you a lot of insight about the well being of an individual you care about. This means sitting in your office you can keep track of your aging parents at who reside at their household which need not even be in the same city that you work in.

Prevention is better than cure

ML combined with this tech can help in predicting emergency situations and even alert local medical staff and dear ones , so that the treatment can be done in a preventive manner rather than post trauma.

IoT will play a major role in futuristic medical care for humans as well as livestock and pets. We will witness an era wherein disease detection and treatment will can be done even before the symptoms can be seen. IoT is the leading the technology to a healthier and better managed future.

We, at Inventrom, have developed the most affordable IoT platform, called the Bolt IoT Platform, and are making it better-n-better everyday in order to offer versatile features to developers & enterprises to make products which will be advantageous in all the sectors mentioned above and many more. You can now pre order the platform on Kickstarter — https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/boltiot/the-worlds-first-9-iot-platform?ref=9ci3sr
