Bot #6 — OMG Sales!

LETS GO SHOPPING!!!

Our 6th bot in our campaign to create 31 bots in May is called OMG Sales and is your one-stop portal to flash sales on www.gilt.com. OMG Sales can help you find great deals on Gilt.

It’s a pretty great way to kill some time by doing some window shopping!

Here’s how it works:

This is one of our more complex bots so far, since we were looking at navigating through some menus and finding things within a fairly large set of information. We’ve have a couple principles here that we’re testing out:

• Getting an image in front of a user fast will help get people excited
• We’re better off putting all the sales in one single bot and letting the user find what they want (the alternative we had tossed back and forth was a series of bots: shoe sales, women’s sales, men’s sales, etc)
• Flat and broad navigation is better than deep and narrow
• Best to take the user to gilt.com quickly to browse, since their UI will be easier to navigate than our bot after a certain point
