Introducing Pingsafe

Introduction:

Pingsafe is a cybersecurity platform that has built-in hacker intelligence. Founded by a renowned white hat hacker, Anand Prakash, Pingsafe has been serving enterprise clients ranging from leading banks to insurance providers. It essentially makes the job of the security team easy by giving one windowpane view for all the security threats. The founder boasts of bug bounty awards from industry giants such as Facebook, Twitter, Tinder, Microsoft, and Uber, establishing Pingsafe’s credibility as a formidable force in the cybersecurity realm.

Challenge:

The challenge lies in capturing the attention of cybersecurity professionals and the decision-makers who are going to pay for the product, particularly Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) of enterprises. While these individuals grapple with the gravity of their responsibilities, they seldom encounter content in the cybersecurity space that engages them on a lighter note and explains their problem statement in a non-verbose way.

Solution:

To address this gap, our team at Bombay Locale crafted a captivating narrative that showed hackers trying to barge into a company’s security and the team at the company trying to mitigate the attack by using multiple tools. Now, using multiple tools for cybersecurity puts the team at risk as not everyone is on the same page — causing misinformation and often communication gaps giving ways to the bad actors to enter the system and putting the company at risk. In a fun way, we introduced Pingsafe as the CNAAP platform suited for such threats.

PingSafe Shoot — The Hacker’s Den

The Viral Impact:

The resulting film captivated the cybersecurity community on Twitter and Linkedin, breaking free from the confines of conventional content. Unlike typical animated videos that merely tell and not show, Pingsafe’s narrative resonated with the decision-makers and professionals in the space on a personal level. It offered a fresh perspective on the everyday challenges faced by cybersecurity professionals, celebrating their extraordinary endeavors in a relatable manner.

The Founder’s Cameo:

A nice moment in the narrative was the cameo appearance of Anand Prakash, the founder of Pingsafe. His presence added authenticity to the story, garnering immense appreciation from the community Pingsafe sought to engage.

Acquisition by SentinelOne:

Just two months after the campaign’s release, Pingsafe was acquired by SentinelOne for a staggering ~$100 million. While the extent of the explainer video’s influence on the acquisition remains uncertain, it undoubtedly succeeded in attracting the attention of CISOs, making richer pipelines, and fostering goodwill within the cybersecurity community.

Conclusion:

Pingsafe’s journey exemplifies the power of storytelling in the realm of cybersecurity. By infusing humor and relatability into its narrative, Pingsafe succeeded in captivating a discerning audience and carving out a niche in a highly competitive industry. As cybersecurity continues to evolve, Pingsafe remains at the forefront, demonstrating that innovation and creativity are potent weapons in the fight against cyber threats.
