What the books don’t tell new moms.

I became a new mom during the great pandemic of 2020… by accident. Needless to say, I was reading a lot during lockdown. I may be in my 30s, but I still felt 19 and the thought of being 100% responsible for new life scared the sh*t out of me.

BOOKS I DO RECOMMEND

THERE’S NO MANUAL Funny, witty and honest. This book was easy to consume and highly informational — a must for all new moms. It also felt more inclusive of various labor & birthing styles than other books available. Plenty of pictures, too! Buy it on Amazon.

WE’RE PREGNANT! — Although it’s tailored for Dads, I found it better than most books available for Moms. Pregnancy, baby’s development, labor and the aftermath are broken up into separate chapters complete with tips on what Mom is going through and how to make life easier for her! Buy it on Amazon.

THE WHOLE-BRAIN CHILD

This one is for after the newborn days and is a great read for anyone who is around kids, not just parents. Shoot, reading this helped me figure out my own patterns and the patterns of my partner. Highly recommend for helping both children and people navigate tough situations.
