A critical component of manufacturing with an autoclave is preventative maintenance. By ensuring that the autoclave is properly inspected and maintained with maintenance intervals, preserves the longevity and production output of the system.

However some make the mistake of overlooking the autoclave maintenance process or postponed it repeatedly in preference to meeting production quotas or in what is perceived as time saving measures. When in reality this causes costly breakdowns and interruptions in production while waiting for an onsite specialist to fix an autoclave that has been poorly maintained, otherwise known as corrective maintenance.

If you’re relying solely on corrective maintenance, then your company is probably wasting tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars every year due to a lack of a preventive maintenance plan. Before we dive in further let’s make sure we’re on the same page about the meaning of Corrective and Preventive maintenance.

Corrective Maintenance is a maintenance task performed to identify, isolate, and rectify a fault so that the failed equipment, machine, or system can be restored to an operational condition within the tolerances or limits established for in-service operations.

Preventive maintenance is work that is performed regularly on a scheduled basis to lessen the likelihood of the piece of equipment from failing. Preventative maintenance is performed while the equipment is still in working condition as to avoid unexpected breakdowns.

Typically, your autoclave comes with preventative maintenance procedures and/or a step by step guide to ensuring that the autoclave meets necessary requirements for optimal performances and production output. As time passes though, employees come and they go and lack of training or knowledge of these procedures can lead to a gap in autoclave maintenance or worse, failing to identify faults during the preventative maintenance inspection.

Bondtech offers annual lossless preventative maintenance services for all types of brands and autoclave systems by highly trained inspectors from overall vessel condition inspections, pressure relief systems to corrosion and build up and more. No shut down is required and no loss of service is experienced while performing said maintenance. Ideally preserving the business goals of production while maintaining the investment of the autoclave itself.
