Winter Clearance Continues
Fashion and Accessory Picks from Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue
Ruffled Trench Coat/Halogen, $83.40: Available in light tan and black, this coat is adorable but feels sophisticated enough to be worn by anyone from 20 and beyond. Note that it is made out of a cotton blend (not wool), so it’s not a heavy winter coat. I think it’s dressy enough to wear to a more formal event, to work or a meeting, or dressed down for lunch with friends or running errands.
Tie Back Shimmer Sweater/Halogen, $41.40: This sweater comes in black, grey, and pale pink. Note that the tie is adjustable so bra issues should be avoidable. It reviewed well and apparently feels soft (unlike many metallic clothing). Something a little special with a dash of sexy at 40% off!
Faux Pearl Embellished Skinny Jeans/BlankNYC, $64.80: You’ll need to zoom in to look at this pair to appreciate what makes them unique. The addition of black pearls along the front is a punchy detail. These go edgy and trendy but the black keeps them just toned down enough that I think they’re fun rather than “trying too hard”.
Faux Fur Stole/Halogen, $29.40: This gorgeous stole in this unique pinky color is EXACTLY the way I elevate my own fashion game. If you have been looking for a way to go bolder this winter, I think this is the perfect purchase. For under $30 (and with free shipping and returns), there’s really no risk. Plus, it reviewed very well. If you’ve been on the fence about upping your fashion game, I advise: take the plunge!
Plaid Scarf/Madewell, $44.99: The warm brown is softened with a few stripes of pink to create a subtly feminine plaid. Perfect for fall or winter.
Cheetah Silk Scarf Square/Kate Spade, $52.80: Such ridiculous, whimsical fun! This feels very Valentine’s Day, too. A fun accessory that can be worn year-round.
Leopard Print Scarf/Saachi, $10.98: Obviously I like dashes of animal print. An inexpensive way to give your outfits a bit of punch.
Cara V-Neck Linen-Blend Shirt with Studs/Rails, $36.80: Understated but edgy at 1/2 off is my kind of find!
Lace-Up Side Sweatshirt/Majestic Paris for Neiman Marcus, $96.80: The Majestic Paris line at Neimans offers staples many of which have a little bit of edge. This slouchy sweatshirt reminds me of my cashmere tie sweater featured in this story. I tie my side ties in bows so that they aren’t so long, but either way works. Cozy, relaxed, and a little edgy. Not “cheap”, but at 65% off, I think this comfy, unique sweatshirt is a good winter staple.
Cold Shoulder Heathered Sweater/Milly, $90.40: I have been a fan of Milly for almost 20 years. This bare shouldered look works for a lot of my friends and is just the right amount of sexy. Though not inexpensive, at over 70% off it’s an opportunity to own a well-constructed, classic, but slightly trendy sweater by a top fashion house.
Cashmere Short-Sleeve Lounge Top/Neiman Marcus, $62.40: 100% cashmere is the perfect way to upgrade your loungewear, especially when it’s discounted by 75%.
Love Knit Raglan Sweater/Chaser, $50.40: Slouchy, cozy, and youthful. This one looks fun to wear around the house!
Tuvala Floral-Print Robe, Black/Natori, $68: Almost sold out, but a few are still left. What a beauty at 65% off!
Pleated-Back Chiffon Blouse/NYDJ, $52: Sometimes you need a practical blouse for work. This one has character, but definitely is conservative enough to wear with black pants/skirt for any work-related function. On the other hand, the print has just enough vibrancy that you could play up the pink or orange to “make it your own” or wear in a more casual setting.
Dahlia One-Shoulder Ruffled Narrow-Striped Poplin Top/Petersyn, $80: One of the things I am always considering is whether something looks like I could have picked it up at JCrew or Gap for $30. This top (at least by photo — I’ve not seen it in person) looks like something you could get a JCrew, but the fabric and ruffles in particular look VERY elevated to me. At over 75% off it appears to be a beautiful top incorporating the off-the-shoulder and ruffle trend at a designer level without the designer price.
Marjorelle Cabochon Statement Earrings/Lulu Frost, $84: These have a slightly exotic feel to them. They would look exquisite with a white summer ensemble, denim outfit, or in the fall with browns, golds, and creams. At 65% off, these are a great price for one of my favorite jewelry designers.
Caroline Sleeveless Blouson Dress/Ramy Brook, $119.20: Too early to think summer? I think not — this stunning white dress is over 70% off (and just a bit over $100)! What a gorgeous neckline — still available in medium and large. Whoever snags this one won’t regret that decision in a few months.
Fidji Pulau Raffia Tote/Nannacay, $70.80: Fringe and pom poms are on track to make a strong showing this spring and summer. Buy last year’s colorful statement bag at 60% off and bust it out as soon as it gets warmer! Larger size is also available here as are other colors and styles.
SO many bargains out there, but much is picked over at this point. There are still some amazing designer pieces about 2/3 off, but I didn’t include them since they were still around $350–500 (and above). For the patient shopper, NOW is the time to buy that special something by sifting through the best stores!
Note: For my plus-size audience, I decided I didn’t want to just throw in a couple of picks. I will be writing up a proper story because there are some great plus-size bargains, too. (And, of course, perhaps one of the accessories featured in today’s story caught your eye!)
I hope you find a sale item that makes you feel cool or chic or pretty or polished or spunky or cozy! If you are looking for something in particular, please let me know — there really are still quite a few choices out there, though they are limited in sizes. Happy shopping, friends!
