The following is an edited excerpt from the new book, Teeth Tomorrow, by Michael Tischler, DDS and Claudia Patch, DMD.

The aging baby boomer generation is facing a serious dilemma: what to do about their failing or compromised teeth.

For some, it has been an ongoing issue for years, perhaps decades. One failing tooth may have started it all, but since then, it has been one trip to the dentist after another. Their dental history could include fillings, crowns, extractions, gum disease, root canals, and much more.

After repeated issues with oral health deterioration, these people have not only experienced a full spectrum of physical problems but have also suffered psychological difficulties and societal misconceptions about their failing teeth.

Finally, they hit a turning point.

They are fed up with temporary quick fixes and seemingly endless problems, so they seek a better solution. These people simply want a better quality of life, and bravo to them for taking that initiative!

They envision a future where their teeth are no longer at the forefront of their minds and every action they take. It is a brighter day they seek, which includes a carefree smile, limitless possibilities, and a renewed passion for life.

Baby boomers and others at this dental turning point need to take control of their lives, accept responsibility for their overall well-being, and act with dogged determination to find the solution that allows them to achieve their goals of a healthier, happier lifestyle.

From that positive and proactive mindset, anything is possible, so they embark on a process of discovery, and that’s where they will find a mix of older and newer options available to them.

Some will be good, others not ideal, but if they look hard enough, they will find the option that empowers them to achieve their oral health goals.

Traditional Options Aren’t Necessarily Good Options

Ignoring the issue simply is not a viable or logical option. Dental implants to replace either individual compromised teeth or an entire arch are universally agreed upon as the best overall solution.

So, what’s the problem with that?

First of all, getting dental implants involves surgery, which is a choice that should never be taken lightly.

Secondly, it can involve an expense that many people don’t have the financial resources to realistically afford. After all, there are so many other draws on a baby boomer’s budget. At this stage of life, they may be paying for one or more kids to go to college, a high-priced mortgage, a car or two, and countless other bills.

Putting off a decision regarding poor oral health isn’t a wise approach, either. Is procrastination ever really a good thing? Eventually, it ends up being counterproductive because the problem only gets bigger — the teeth get worse, and the expense gets higher because more work is required to fix the compounded problem.

The other problem is that previous technology in reconstructive dentistry had some significant drawbacks, including material instability and distortion of fit, which can amount to the need for additional procedures and extra expense.

For the aging baby boomer population experiencing this dilemma, traditional solutions simply are not ideal.

You have another option.

Expert Practitioners with an Expert Solution

We are Dr. Michael Tischler, DDS, and Dr. Claudia Patch, DMD, the lead practitioners at Tischler & Patch Dental in Woodstock, New York.

Over the years, we have both served as featured speakers at numerous well-attended industry events and have authored several popular articles about implant dentistry.

We’re also most proud of our roles as cofounders of the Teeth Tomorrow Network for Advanced Implant Dentists.

We created Teeth Tomorrow and the Prettau Zirconia bridge, a life-changing procedure fully capable of providing a supremely comfortably fitting and aesthetically pleasing long-term solution to a baby boomer’s declining oral health.

It’s always tremendously rewarding when we’re able to leverage a technological advance to help people fulfill their hopes and dreams.

There are four main reasons we wholeheartedly endorse this protocol as the best full-arch tooth replacement option for so many of our patients:

  1. It has a relatively short treatment time compared to other similarly long-lasting options for teeth replacement.
  2. It’s the least expensive of all the options that provide equal value.
  3. It is the most stable option available, capable of tolerating the daily rigors of a human mouth, as well as all reasonable thermodynamic changes.
  4. The total treatment/healing experience involves minimal disruption to quality of life.

Our hope is to introduce our breakthrough solution to baby boomers and others all over the world whose quality of life is suffering from either inferior dental work or no implants at all.

You do have options, and we can help.
